The Poggiopiano Farm is located on the slopes of hills of Fiesole looking towards the Arno Valley, close to Florence.Vines and olive trees cover almost 17 hectares, at an average altitude of 150 metres, on a poor, calcareous and marl-based field.The full exposure to sun determines a particularly favourable microclimate, allowing for a low environmental impact of agricultural activities, according to the requirements of biological agriculture.
The farm has been owned by the Galardi family since 135 and during the last 25 years it has been focused on the replantation of olive trees and vine.

• As for olive trees, special attention has been paid to the selection of typical Tuscan varieties:Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino.
• As for vines, selected varieties of Sangiovese, Colorino, Merlot and Cabernet have been replanted.

All the facilities have been refurbished according to a development programme personally followed by the owner, Mauro Galardi, based on the search for a continuous improvement of culture techniques, with a view to achieving a valuable use of production quality and guaranteeing hygiene in the transformation and preservation of products.

The annual production:

• Extra-virgin olive oil: an average of about 5,000 litres, constantly increasing with the presence of new plants.
• Wines:25,000 bottles of VINO CHIANTI D.O.C.G. and Reserve 7,000 bottles of Red Wine IGT, 3,500 White Wine IGT
