Villa Emy is located on the north-west side of the hills of Fiesole, and only 7 km away from the Dome in Florence city. The villa used to be a roadside inn for the Oratory of Santissimo Crocifisso of Fontelucente, built in 1692 and where there is still a spring with water that is considered to have miraculous properties.
Villa Emy was built between 1700 and 1800 on the rocks using big pieces of ancient stones and hosts 20 little rooms isolated from the world. These are the same rooms that once served as shelter for pilgrims. In 1800 it was transformed into a residence, with 3 fireplaces and a big oven to cook bread and much more.
Nowadays one room is dedicated to the practice of yoga and meditation, and another one to seminars and consultancy about complementary medicine and wellness for modern pilgrims. Furthermore interest in the miracolous water attracts many researchers and curious visitors. Villa Emy and the surrounding area are in fact crossed by water with particular vibrations:
the water that passes underneath the soil refreshes and irrigates olive trees, peers, apples, figs, plums, chestnuts and cherries, providing big quantities of fruit some of which is used for oil and jams.
The soil has never been treated chemically and is blooming with officinal herbs like mallow, thyme and fennel, that are used for infusions and decoctions. The wood is small but is rich in animals like deers, foxes, squirrels, martens, snakes and wild boars, and it is possible to walk around it following animal trails.
Two caves of Pietra Serena, active until the 50’s are visible on the surrounding landscape, while huge Etruscan stones recall the origins of the town of Fiesole.
The rooms share a common bathroom, breakfast and lunch are made with biological products.
Villa Emy was born as a B&B in 2000, and the management is organized by Emy Narbone
Emy Narbone, Naturopathy Doctor and graduated in Mathematics specializing in Biophysics, Radionics and Kinesiology, proficient in Dietetics and Moxa of Traditional Chinese Medicine, hatha and kundalini yoga Teacher, dedicated to divulgation and teaching.
Emy converted Villa Emy into a place where she can host pilgrims, hosts and disciples in 360°. They can choose either a simple shelter or a path for new life style going from food through meditation, yoga and body care.
During spring and summer the nights are characterized by candle light dinners under the stars with a beautiful scenic design, in autumn instead there are walks in the fields and into the wood, looking for herbs and enjoying lunch-seminars in front of the fireplace.
