Treat yourself to a lovely experience, of shopping in the picturesque Florentine shops and workshops to discover the extraordinary heritage of Florentine craftsmanship and creativity.
Our walk is concentrated in the “Oltrarno” area, which lies on the left bank of the Arno River in the heart of artisan Florence. Here we will visit a craftsman who still practices wood carving using techniques dating from the 17th century, the Art Printers where prints of landscapes and scenes of Florence are reproduced using a procedure which has become almost lost today, a leather craftsman who creates beautiful handbags, wallets and exquisite leather boxes skilfully modelled by hand, a Shoemaker who creates made to measure shoes all by hand and a Bookbinder who decorates book covers with the famous Florentine marbled paper each page of which is created rigorously by hand in beautiful colour combinations.
We will also visit a famous woodworker and restorer in his minute and charming workshop. We will enter the hidden workshops where small and precious silver objects are made in pure Florentine style. We can follow the work of the young artisan creating real works of art, with wood marquetry (inlay wood work) and a unique and genuine workshop “museum” where mosaics and landscapes are “painted” using marble and semi-precious stone inlays instead of brush strokes.
During our walk we will pop into various other quaint little shops where you can buy authentic handmade items.

For those who dream of owning the finest leather accessories such as shoes and handmade bags we will directly visit their creators. We will observe the goldsmith who still continues techniques from the past to create jewels with a modern twist using silver, gold and precious stones. Try the emotion of the fascinating and seductive world of perfume in a true olfactory journey inside a laboratory, unique of its kind. Enter the imaginative world of a designer famous for her colourful bijou of inimitable taste and style. We have the opportunity to visit two young designers with their unusual creations of earrings made with antique lace from the end of 19th century, handmade braid and embroidered bobbin lace and their reversible bags made of vintage fabric each one a unique handmade piece and dresses made from vintage silk scarves. We will meet the handbag designer in his studio located inside an old palace with its own beautiful garden, the hat maker, one of the last still selling the famous straw hats of Florence which originated in the 16th century. We can feel the texture of the purest and softest sweaters in cashmere.
We will explore a “Concept Store” specialising in clothing with an original touch, unique and at the same time ethical for its use of natural organic and eco-friendly fibres. Let’s be enchanted by one of the first organic textile fashion companies, from the “Organic Style” which today is an up-coming innovation in the Made in Italy fashion industry.
During our walk we will also visit various workshops and labs where you can watch the artisans at work and at the same time perhaps buy something unique as a reminder of your stay in Florence.

We will visit an artisan who creates precious objects for the home, a Bookbinder who decorates book covers with the famous Florentine marbled paper created rigorously by hand in beautiful colour combinations.
We will explore a unique workshop “museum” where beautiful landscapes are created with mosaics and semi-precious stones and visit the authentic ceramic workshop famous for its pottery entirely hand painted in traditional Tuscan style. In the fascinating setting of the Franciscan dormitory of a 15th century church we can observe a leather craftsman creating elegant gold embossed leather ware. In fact there is no lack of leather shops in Florence where you can buy a trendy leather jacket, or a handbag of elegant or casual design all made with the highest quality craftsmanship. We will also visit shops of household items where you can find beautiful Tuscan linen fabrics and accessories for your bathroom or kitchen.

A fluvial route dedicated to "Arno Fiesolano" discovery, with its mills and the “Gualchiere” able to make Florence famous for industrial activities since the thirteenth century. The descent of this river stretch is by soft rafting, starting from the fluvial port of the historic " Martellina Mill " , where at the end of descent will be given a drink at sunset on the terrace overlooking the river. Along the way we’ll tell you about these incredible places , reached by water only, where for centuries has been working the" woolen cloth " , and have been ground flour and transited the wooden “foderi " used to built the Duomo of Florence. A unique experience between history, culture, nature discovering an unusual corner of the Fiesole territory at sunset.

A relaxing guided walk into the Romantic Garden of the Queen so called since it was inaugurated by in 1893 by the Queen Victoria of England exploring the first part of the Botanic Garden.
Passing through the wood, your guide will lead you discovering the fruits garden and the animals living in the farm as well. Then you will experience the olive oil mill with the explanation of the process and its beneficial properties. You will taste the biological oil produced here and enjoy a tasting of some typical Tuscan products as salami, ham and Pecorino cheese pair drinking a glass of wine from the area.
